Reginald "Reggie" Pugh
has been President/CEO of the Urban League
of Greater Columbus, Inc. (ULGC) since October 2002. Under
his leadership the League’s workload has increased more than
800%, from 5,000 clients in 2002 to 36,000 clients in
2007. The League’s operating budget has more than doubled,
and many new programs and services are now being provided to
the community. The ULGC is now debt free. As
President/CEO, Mr. Pugh directs, coordinates and supervises
the overall programs of the organization.
Mr.
Pugh served in the U.S. Army, Medical Service Corps and
retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his
stint in the Army, Mr. Pugh worked as a Social Work Officer
and served in key assignments as the Chief of Social Work
Services at Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Stewart, GA and Fort
Benning, GA. His military awards include the Legion of
Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals,
Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Airborne
Badge, Air-Assault Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge and
numerous other medals and ribbons.
Mr. Pugh is a disabled
veteran.
Mr.
Pugh is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work,
a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia and Tennessee
and is also a member of the Academy of Certified Social
Workers.
Mr. Pugh received his undergraduate degree in social work
from Freed Hardeman University and his graduate degree in
social work (Administration/Planning) from the University of
Tennessee.
Mr. Pugh
completed post graduate
courses at Kansas State University.

Council, member of the 555th Parachute Infantry
Association, Inc. (Triple Nickel), and former President of
both the Spencer High School PTA and School Council.

married to Evelyn Pugh who is a Vice-President at SunTrust
Bank as well as Mayor Pro-Tem and a member of the Columbus
Consolidated Government City Council. They have five (5)
adult children and seven (7) grandchildren.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he has been a resident
of Georgia for the past sixteen (16) years.
Mr. Pugh is a member of
Revelations Missionary Baptist Church.
